FORMER Bablake School pupil Ben Cooper cannot wait to take to the field in a blue and white shirt after becoming Coventry’s third signing of the summer.
The 22-year-old fly half joins from Boroughmuir and is expected to make a big impact at the Butts Park Arena next season.
Cooper, who was bought up in Warwickshire, has represented Scotland at all age levels up to the Under-20s and played against both England and Ireland last season.
He started his career at Leeds Carnegie Academy while at University in Leeds and also had a short spell at Kelso.
Now after returning home Cooper will have Matt Jones as his mentor and is looking forward to the challenge at his new club.
“The club has a lot of ambition and an excellent environment which I hope will allow me to develop as a player and help the club push for promotion.” said Cooper.
“Coventry is a club I have grown up with after going to school here, coming to watch matches with my Dad, and I have also played here a few times while at Bablake.
“Nothing will compare to the first time I run out in a blue and white shirt though.”
