CYCLE SPEEDWAY: YOUNGSTER Ronnie Wassall stormed to a 20-point maximum to land the British Cycle Speedway Under 10s Championship gold medal.
The Coventry skid kid starred at Leicester, defeating Kenzie Bennett from Poole and ‘JJ’ Wildman from Exeter to the top step of the rostrum.
Wassall – who used his gating ability to win the majority of his races – was the first racer to land gold across the annual weekend event, which sees GB’s finest riders compete in a series of age category events to win respective British titles.
Coventry Sabres skipper, and youth team coach, Myke Grimes, said he was proud of Ronnie’s achievements.
“Congratulation to Ronnie, he deserves the British crowd,” said Grimes.
“He’s a hard racer and I’m sure he has a bright future in the sport of cycle speedway.”
