Gaskell in for Wasps' clash with Harlequins

Coventry Editorial 28th Sep, 2020   0

HEAD Coach Lee Blackett’s introduction of James Gaskell to the starting line-up will be Wasps’ only change for Monday night’s Premiership clash with Harlequins (7.45pm).

Third-placed Wasps go into matchday 21 trailing Bath – who are second – by four points with a game in hand, so can do their chances of a top-two finish no harm with victory at Twickenham Stoop.

A calf injury has kept Joe Launchbury out of contention for the fixture having appeared last time out in the 59-35 triumph over Bristol Bears, affording Gaskell his 118th appearance for the club.

Wasps have named backs Matteo Minozzi, Zach Kibirige, Malakai Fekitoa, Jimmy Gopperth, Josh Bassett, Jacob Umaga and captain Dan Robson in their starting XV.

Meanwhile, Ben Harris, Tom Cruse, Kieran Brookes, Will Rowlands, Brad Shields, Jack Willis and Tom Willis join Gaskell in the forwards ranks.

Gabriel Oghre, Tom West, Jeff Toomaga-Allen, Tim Cardall, Alfie Barbeary, Thomas Young, Ben Vellacott and Michael Le Bourgeois have all been named as replacements.
