SKY Blues midfielder George Thomas says he has learned alot from his loan spell at Yeovil and is now determined to fight for a place in Tony Mowbray’s side.
The 18-year-old made five appearances during a one-month loan period at Huish Park, where he gained valuable first team experience in League Two.
He returned to the Sky Blues last and played in Monday’s 5-0 defeat away at Hull City for the Under-21s.
Thomas, who has already made six appearances for Mowbray’s side this season, is hoping to use his recent experience in Somerset to push himself back up the pecking order at the Ricoh Arena.
“I really enjoyed myself at Yeovil,” Thomas said.
“It’s completely different to here, being away and seeing different ways that things are set up.
“There are differences in the types of football but it was a good experience with different people.
“Obviously getting first team minutes with a different style of play is another good experience for me. They’re a good side unfortunately challenging down the bottom of the league.
“But now I’m back and there are some really talented players in the first-team. I have to play in the 21s to try and get in the manager’s eyeline.
“I like the gaffer here, he speaks to everyone regularly on what the situation is. Obviously you never hope for injuries, especially as the team are doing so well but it’s a busy Christmas period, maybe I may get a chance but I’ve got to keep enjoying my football.”
