FOOTBALL: COVENTRY City have been presented with a golden opportunity to reach the third round of the FA Cup for the first time in four years as non-league Boreham Wood were drawn as the club’s second round opponents.
Mark Robins’ side defeated Maidenhead 2-0 at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday, earning them a spot in the competition’s second round.
And hopes of the Sky Blues reaching the third round – the stage at which teams from the Premier League and Championship are introduced – are at a high.
The Sky Blues will host the National League side on the weekend of December 2/3 at the Ricoh Arena.
Boreham Wood will enter the contest full of confidence though after beating Blackpool in the first round.
