COVENTRY TaeKwon-Do’s elite squad came away with an astonishing 63 medals at the English ITF Championships in Derbyshire.
Every single member of the team came back from Alfreton with at least one medal.
Each competitor took part in four categories which are the main disciplines: sparring, patterns, board breaking and special technique.
The squad all train at Coventry’s new full-time international TaeKwon-Do centre based in its own purpose built training facility above Coundon Social Club.
Zoe Tizick, who manages the centre, said “The squad had gone above and beyond the expectation we had for them.
“It’s the best results and strongest squad since we attended the World Championships in 2012.”
Jon Tizick, who coached the squad to victory on the day, is now looking for similar success as he heads to Lincolnshire to coach the national RAF squad in preparation for the inter services championships at the end of the month.
The Coventry team are back in action in September with eyes for some on a trip to Poland for the European Championships.
