COVENTRY Blaze have confirmed British defenceman David Clements will return for his 10th Elite League season with the club in 2024/25.
The 29-year-old signed a two-year deal last summer and will celebrate a testimonial year with Blaze over the course of the upcoming season.
Since joining Coventry in 2015/16, Clements has become a mainstay on the Blaze blue-line and a key member of the club.
Blaze managing director, Mike Cowley, said: “We recognise the outstanding contribution that David has made over the course of 10 years.
“He has made himself a talisman both through his character and playing ability and we look forward to his testimonial celebrations.”
Clements took on an associate captaincy role in 2022/23 and will surpass 500 games and 100 points in Elite League competition for the club in 2024/25.
He has currently amassed 473 games with 99 points (21 goals, 78 assists).
Clements has represented Team GB at all levels, including two appearances at the IIHF World Championship.
Before he turned professional, Clements spent three seasons with the Ogden Mustangs of the WSHL where he became captain and the team’s all-time leading points scorer for a defenceman.
Further information regarding Clements’ testimonial and associated events will follow in due course.
