COVENTRY Blaze avenged their recent defeat against Dundee Stars and also beat Glasgow Clan on home ice in a four-point weekend.
Blaze won 5-2 at Dundee Ice Arena as both Elijiah Barriga and Adam Robbins scored braces while William Boysen also found the net in Scotland.
And Coventry then won 4-1 against Glasgow at the Skydome to celebrate a four-point weekend.
The results mean Blaze remain eighth in the Elite League table.
Coventry came from behind to beat Dundee as Stars netminder Emil Kruse made a desperate stop to deny Matthew Gleason in the first 20 seconds.
Blaze then failed to capitalise on a three-on-zero break soon after before Dundee opened the scoring at 13.54 when the puck fell kindly to Craig Garrigan who duly broke the deadlock.
However, the visitors equalised at 18.02 as Robbins tapped home after Grant Mismash’s initial effort trickled through Kruse.
Kruse then produced a string of saves to keep the scores level as he denied Mike Pelech, Boysen and Gleason in quick succession.
However, after both teams spurned powerplay chances, Coventry eventually took the lead at 36.10 when Barriga crashed a shot into the net to score against his former club.
And Blaze extended their lead at 38.25 as Boysen hammered a one-timer past Kruse on the powerplay.
Dundee pulled a goal back early in the third period at 41.02 when Matthew Boudens scored on the rebound after Mat Robson made an initial save.
However, Barriga scored for a second time against his old side at 49.47 on a breakaway as he slid the puck through Kruse’s legs.
And Robbins sealed victory for Blaze at 53.13 with his second of the game as he finished off a flowing passing move.
Coventry then secured victory against Glasgow on home ice to extend their unbeaten run in regulation time to eight matches.
Blaze broke the deadlock at 13.30 when Artie Buzoverya raced onto Jordan Power’s perfectly-weighted feed and feinted past Lucas Brine before sliding the puck into the net.
And the hosts doubled their lead at 16.43 as Jack Hopkins produced a clinical finish from Alessio Luciani’s wraparound pass.
Glasgow halved the deficit in the second period at 26.08 when Hugo Roy pounced on a rebound from Daniel Tedesco’s initial effort to score on the powerplay.
Coventry killed another penalty soon after and restored their two-goal cushion at 34.31 as Mismash rifled a one-timer past Brine from a face-off on the powerplay.
Blaze thought they had scored on the powerplay again later in the second period only for a video review to show the puck hit the post.
The home side sealed the points at 52.35 when Grayson Constable finished off a well-worked more to score his eighth goal of the season.
Coventry are next in action against Glasgow on Friday, January 23 with the face-off at 7.30pm at Braehead Arena.
Blaze then host Fife Flyers on Sunday, January 25 with the face-off at 5.30pm at the Skydome.
