COVENTRY Blaze put five goals past Fife Flyers and Cardiff Devils respectively to secure a four-point weekend in the Elite League.
Blaze battled to a 5-3 victory against bottom club Flyers at Fife Ice Arena.
And Coventry then claimed a 5-4 success against Cardiff on home ice at the Skydome Arena.
The results mean Blaze sit seventh in the Elite League standings just four points behind Manchester Storm in fifth.
Coventry returned to winning ways against Fife in Scotland as Blaze defenceman David Clements made his 600th Elite League appearance.
And the visitors made a blistering start as William Boysen opened the scoring at 2.51 after Elijiah Barriga held the puck in the offensive zone.
Blaze quickly doubled their lead at 8.32 when Adam Robbins capitalised on a scramble in front of the net to finish from his knees.
However, Fife halved the deficit at 18.41 courtesy of Garet Hunt’s effort.
And the Flyers stunned Blaze with a second goal 18 seconds later when Jonas Emmerdahl finished on the rush to level up the game before the end of the first period.
Coventry reclaimed the lead in the second period at 23.47 as Grayson Constable converted from Robbins and Grant Mismash.
Blaze struck again at 45.24 in the third period when Alessio Luciani capitalised on a Flyers error and finished high past veteran Fife netminder Shane Owen.
Fife responded at 53.15 as Jeremy Masella finished Emmerdahl’s feed at the back post from close range.
However, Coventry sealed the points at 58.41 when Connor Russell finished into an empty net after Fife pulled Owen for an extra skater.
Blaze followed up the win with another victory against Cardiff as the home side raced into a four-goal lead.
Coventry stunned Cardiff with a four-goal blitz in the first period after Colton Saucerman and Brett Ferguson dropped the gloves following a coming together behind the Blaze net less than three minutes into the contest.
And Blaze broke the deadlock at 10.05 when Constable finished a well-worked backdoor play from Mismash.
Coventry extended their lead with powerplay goals at 13.08 and 16.44 as Mike Pelech twice found the net while Mismash provided two further assists.
And a dream first period continued for Blaze when Jordan Power added a fourth goal at 18.47 as Mismash claimed a fourth assist.
Cardiff staged a second period comeback as Brett Perlini struck at 29.34 before Josh MacDonald scored at 30.55 on the powerplay.
And the Devils reduced the deficit to a single goal in the third period at 47.36 when Perlini scored his second of the game.
However, Blaze secured the points at 59.40 when Saucerman finished into an empty net after Cardiff pulled Ben Bowns for an extra skater.
The Devils still had time to score a fourth goal with five seconds remaining as Brandon Estes struck on the powerplay but the strike proved too little too late.
Coventry are next in action against recently-crowned champions Belfast Giants on Wednesday, April 1 with the face-off at 7pm at SSE Arena Belfast.
