KEVIN Moore branded Coventry Blaze’s comfortable 5-1 win against Manchester Storm as ‘gutsy’ following an impressive display on home ice.
Goals from Kim Tallberg, Alessio Luciani, Morten Jurgens, Brandon Alderson and Chase Gresock secured a fine win for Blaze at the Skydome Arena.
And Coventry head coach Moore praised his side for keeping their heads following an incident-packed second period which included a fight and several post-whistle altercations..
Moore said: “It was a really gritty, gutsy win from the guys, they played hard and played the right way.
“They showed a lot of heart to make sure they locked it down, it was a good team win, I’m really proud of the guys.
“Every game is different, we know we’re offensively dangerous, in a lot of games you’ve just got to learn how to block out the noise.
“The guys played the right way despite a bunch of things that were out of their control, we talked about being present and good things happen.
“This is a fun group, especially for how young they are, to watch them grow week to week is great.”
Coventry are next in action against Nottingham Panthers on Saturday, January 18 with the face-off at 7pm at Motorpoint Arena.
Blaze then host Guildford Flames on Sunday, January 19 with the face-off at 5.30pm at the Skydome.
