COVENTRY Blaze have confirmed last season’s top scorer Grant Mismash will remain with the club for the 2026/27 Elite League season.

The American forward led the Blaze charts for points (62) and assists (36) in Elite League competitions with a joint high of 26 goals.

The 27-year-old joined Blaze from Belfast Giants last season after he helped the latter side to an Elite League and Challenge Cup double in 2024/25.

Blaze head coach, Kevin Moore said: “We are extremely excited to have Grant back.

“This past season, he was one of the most dynamic playmakers in the league and will anchor our offense in 2026/27.

“His edgework, ability to make plays in tight spaces, and shooting ability fit exactly with how we want to play with the puck.

“Grant is a selfless and respected teammate and a big part of our locker room.”

Prior to his time in the United Kingdom, the Minnesota native spent the 2023/24 season in Europe with Ostersunds IK in Sweden and Stjernen Hockey in Norway.

He amassed an impressive 46 points (13 goals, 33 assists) in 45 games across all competitions during his time in Scandinavia.

Mismash began his professional career in 2021, signing a rookie contract with the Nashville Predators of the NHL.

He went on to make 57 appearances for their AHL affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals, tallying 12 points (6 goals, 6 assists).

The following year, he signed for Tampa Bay Lightning, spending two seasons with their affiliates, the Syracuse Crunch (AHL) and Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL).

Before turning professional, Mismash played four seasons of NCAA hockey at the University of North Dakota (2017 to 2021), where he recorded 71 points (32 goals, 39 assists) in 117 games.

During his time with the Fighting Hawks, he claimed two NCHC regular season titles (2019/20, 2020/21) and became a 2020/21 NCHC tournament champion.
