COVENTRY Blaze returned to winning ways with back-to-back victories against Dundee Stars and Fife Flyers in a four-point weekend.

Blaze took the lead on four separate occasions before eventually claiming a 4-3 win against the Stars at Dundee Ice Arena.

And Coventry backed up that result with a dominant 7-2 victory against Fife at the Skydome Arena as Brandon Alderson netted a hat-trick.

The results mean Blaze sit fifth in the Elite League standings.

Coventry made the trip to Scotland to take on Dundee with the hosts hoping to secure the final end-of-season play-off spot.

However, Blaze made the perfect start as Nick Seitz opened the scoring just 2.47 into the contest.

Dundee responded at 8.44 as Spencer Naas pounced on a turnover to draw the home side level.

Coventry reclaimed the lead at 32.18 when Luciani found the net for the sixth game in a row.

The Stars equalised for a second time at 36.49 as Brendan Harms banked the puck off Blaze goaltender Mat Robson from behind the net.

Blaze took the lead for a third time at 44.02 when Chase Gresock scored his 29th goal of the campaign.

Dundee levelled once again at 49.59 as Brett Gravelle tied up the game for a third time.

However, Blaze won the game at 52.48 when defenceman Alexander Kuqali fired home.

Coventry then put Fife to the sword on home ice as Blaze netted seven goals without reply before the visitors struck twice late on.

Blaze broke the deadlock at 5.45 when Kim Tallberg capitalised on a misjudgment by Flyers netminder Janis Voris behind the goal to score into an empty net.

The home side doubled their lead through Seitz at 25.51 before Alderson scored his first goal of the game at 26.33 on the powerplay.

And Seitz grabbed his second of the game at 32.28 before Alderson scored just 39 seconds in the third period.

Alderson completed his hat-trick at 48.32 with another powerplay goal before Morten Jurgens found the net just nine seconds later.

Fife grabbed a pair of consolation goals courtesy of Patrick Kyte at 54.10 and Phelix Martineau at 58.12.

Coventry are next in action against Glasgow Clan on Sunday, March 30 with the face-off at 5.30pm at the Skydome.
