ICE HOCKEY - Coventry Blaze to host French side Gothiques d’Amiens in pre-season

COVENTRY Blaze will entertain French side Gothiques d’Amiens as part of the club’s pre-season preparations ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Blaze will welcome Amiens to the Skydome Arena for an international pre-season friendly on Sunday, August 30 with the face-off at 5.30pm.

Amiens compete in France’s top division, Ligue Magnus, and finished eighth last season.

A number of players have moved between the French and British leagues in recent years.

Former Blaze forward Nick Seitz returns to the Skydome for the first time since joining the French club this summer.

And former Manchester Storm forward Tyler Hinam along with ex-Belfast Giants goaltender Alexis Gravel also feature in the Amiens squad.

Amiens recently appointed Bruce Richardson as the club’s new head coach. Richardson previously served as player-assistant coach with the Nottingham Panthers between 2008 and 2010.

The French side play Nottingham the day before making the trip to Coventry.

Coventry have also confirmed two pre-season games against Elite League rivals Guildford Flames.

Blaze will travel to the Guildford Spectrum on Saturday, September 5 with the face-off at 6pm.

And the two teams will meet again the following day at the Skydome on Sunday, September 6 with the face-off at 5.30pm.

Coventry’s home friendly against Guildford will mark the club’s final pre-season fixture ahead of the 2026/27 Elite League campaign.
