INTERVIEW: Clements in positive spirits after gaining more ice time in recent weeks

ICE HOCKEY: DEFENCEMAN David Clements revealed he’s feeling the best he has been since joining Blaze following the club’s impressive win against Manchester.

The home-grown defender has enjoyed more time on the ice in recent weeks as a result of the club’s extensive injury list.

Though the 23-year-old never wishes injuries upon anyone, he did say it was nice to take advantage of the short-bench situation to develop his skills during game situations.

He said: “I feel better than I have since being here.

“Injuries have allowed me the chance to get some more ice time and I’m working hard.

“Milton Keynes was a tough game and we had opportunities. But we spent too much time in the box – we wanted to bounce back.

“Manchester are always a fiesty team, they’ve got some tough players.

“We were told to stay smart and stay disciplined.”
