JOSH Fairchild came away from the Midland Short Course Championships in Nottingham with four medals including gold in the 200m freestyle event.
The City of Coventry swimmer was in fine form at the Harvey Hadden Sports Village last week where he placed on the podium in four of his five races.
Fairchild was racing in the S14 category and also took finished runner-up in the 100m breaststroke and 50m freestyle, while taking bronze in the 100m backstroke.
The event ran over two days with two heat sessions and a finals session taking place each day.
Other standout swimmers for Coventry included Joe Iacovides had an excellent meet after braking the Warwickshire junior record for the 1,500m freestyle in a time of 16:01.38. He finished fith overall in the open age group and Matt Bruce won silver in the 50m freestyle.
The team had several other finalists over the course of the weekend with Abigail Humphreys placing fifth in the 200m butterfly and seventh in the 400m individual medley.
Alex Carroll also finished seventh in the 400m individual medley. Joe Iacovides was eighth in the 400m individual iedley, while Sam Richards took fourth postion in the 200m breaststroke and he also finished sixth in the 200m individual medley. Joe Evans finished eighth in the 400m freestyle.
