Lauren to plunge into GB duty

Coventry Editorial 29th Mar, 2018   0

COVENTRY’S Lauren Cox has been selected to represent Great Britain at the European Junior Championships in Finland after a stellar performance at the British Championships.

The 16-year-old put in an impressive performance in Edinburgh, where she claimed lifetime bests in the 50m backstroke and 100m backstroke.

Her performance in the 50m backstroke was enough to secure a bronze medal while her times in both swims were new Warwickshire county senior records.

Cox now begins her build-up for the trip to Helsinki in July with competitions in London in early April and the West Midlands Championships in Coventry during May.
