Lee Knibbs announced as new Coventry Sphinx first team coach following Dutton departure

Coventry Editorial 5th Oct, 2017   0

FOOTBALL: COVENTRY Sphinx first team manager Stuart Dutton and his assistant Scott Furlong have both left the club with immediate effect.

The pair will be replaced by new manager Lee Knibbs, who returns to the club having already served time as assistant to Danny McSheffery in 2012.

Knibbs will take on all first team matters immediately and will take charge of his first game on Saturday, a home tie against South Normanton Athletic FC.

All parties agreed the move was the right thing to do for the benefit of the football club.

Club chairman Dannie Cahill said: “Both Stuart and Scott have worked tirelessly the last couple of seasons for which we are all truly grateful.

“But with recent poor results we all decided that it was time for a change.

“Great credit must go to them both for putting the club first and we wish them both every success in whatever they decide to do in the future.”
