HALF-TIME SUMMARY: A deeply concerning 0-2 scoreline here at the Ricoh Arena in this crucial six-pointer at the foot of League One.

The Sky Blues were marginally the better side for the first 20 minutes with much possession in the Swindon half, and they created some half-chances, the best falling to Tudgay who swivelled in the penalty box but hit his chance straight at goalkeeper Vigouroux.

From then Swindon’s occasional chances on the break became more frequent and the Robins gradually took control of the game creating a string of good chances which forced last ditch defending.

Two bitter blows for the Sky Blues’ relegation survival prospects were dealt with some quality poaching finishes in the penalty box by proven goalscorers Nicky Ajose and Jonathon Obika.

City were stretched on numerous occasions at the back with Swindon looking particularly threatening down the left where Ben Gladwin is having a good game and James Brophy is stretching play on the right.

Sky Blues looked increasingly impotent up-front towards the end of the half with Kwame Thomas and Marcus Tudgay chasing scraps.

With Beavon, Vernam, and the Yak on the bench there could well be changes.

HALF TIME: Coventry City 0-2 Swindon Town.

HALF TIME: Swindon end the half with a two-goal advantage. City looking threatening at times, though Swindon dominant on the break. The Robins lead 2-0 at half time with strikes from Ajose & Obika.

’40 – Chance for the Sky Blues. Turnbull runs down the wing, plenty of options available in the 18-yard box. Cross finds no-one though. Obika at the other end with a chance, though his shot goes high and wide. 0-2.

’37 – Goal! Jonathon Obika doubles Swindon’s lead. City two goals down. Coventry 0-2 Swindon.

’36 – Huge last effort challenge from Jordan Turnball denies Ajose getting a shot off, corner given. Crucial challenge.

’31 – Goal! Swindon score. Ajose gets onto a cross from the left and today’s visitors take the lead. City 0-1 Swindon.

’28 – Dangerous free-kick chance for Swindon just outside the D in a central position.

Ajose’s shot goes just past the right-hand corner. He had Burge stretched.

’25 – Game has settled following Tudgay’s clear cut chance. Swindon looking dangerous when they are in City’s half. Coventry proving capable defensively, denying any shooting opportunity.

’20 – Kelly-Evans sends Thomas on the right. His cross finds Tudgay in the penalty area who controls, turns, then shoots his effort straight at Town keeper Vigouroux. Biggest chance of the game so far.

’17 – Poor work by Swindon in their own area results in a City corner. Big chance for the Sky Blues.

’12 – SWINDON CHANCE: Obika with the biggest chance so far, saved by Burge who tips the ball around the right hand post for a corner. Shot results from corner, goal kick given.

’11 – Kwame Thomas on the right finds Andy Rose in some space in the penalty area – his tame shot is easily saved.

’10 – Swindon go close as Ajose is tackled on the edge of the box by Jordan Turnball. A crucial challenge. Corner – which is gathered by keeper Lee Burge.

‘9 – First chance of the game. Corner on the right from Foley finds an unmarked Tudgay. Tudgay can’t get full control on his shot and it goes straight into the hands of Town keeper Vigouroux.

‘7 – Swindon break on the right, but a potentially dangerous cross from Bradley Barry is cleared. Still no clear cut chances.

‘5 – Positive start for the Sky Blues. Plenty of pressure and possession inside the Swindon half – no chances as yet. Andy Rose with a chance following a failed clearance. City on top.

KICK-OFF – Underway at the Ricoh! Visible crowd has dramatically increased minutes prior to kick-off, many presumably avoiding the cold. City kicking from right to left from press box viewing area.

TEAMS OUT – Both teams are out in the pitch for this afternoon’s game. A little drizzle in the air with cloudy conditions. Chill in the air too – hats and scarves are out in force!
