FORWARD Georgia Stevens is the latest name to arrive through the door at Butts Park Arena after putting pen to paper with Coventry United.

Following in the footsteps of fellow new teammates Olivia Clark and Anna Wilcox in heading to the West Midlands in recent weeks, 20-year-old Stevens has enjoyed a more journeyed route to the FA Women’s Championship having been brought in from Icelandic club Thorkastelpur.

The Liverpudlian has turned out professionally for Blackburn Rovers, Sheffield United, AFC Fylde and Huddersfield Town prior to her Nordic adventure in the Icelandic top flight.

The addition is another sign of intent from the club – having acquired fresh investment from local firm Mirius in December – to bolster Jay Bradford’s squad.

Clearly delighted by the deal, which runs until the end of the season, the United manager said: “Georgia is a great addition to squad and gives us a different dynamic in our front line.”

Stevens will go straight into the Red and Green’s squad for their first outing of 2021 away to Sheffield United on Sunday.
