BLAKE Angliss secured a hat-trick of podium finishes as his sensational return to the track continued at Snetterton in the Ginetta GT Championship.

Angliss now has nine podium finishes from as many races this season after he claimed four race wins and two podium places at Silverstone earlier this month.

The Coventry-based driver was second in races two and three after he finished third in the opening race.

Angliss said: “With my track record at Snetterton in previous years, I ultimately wanted more from this weekend, but unfortunately it’s a case where a couple of issues out of my control have cost me the opportunity to properly challenge for the race wins.

“I was pleased with the way I bounced back from the poor start in race two and showed what I can do with some good overtaking moves.

“Sadly, a bonnet issue cost me at least half a second a lap in race three, so I didn’t really have a chance to keep the lead.

“Still, to continue a 100 per cent podium record since returning to racing is pleasing and a huge thank you must go to my partners who have helped get me on the grid.

“I’m determined to now try and get back out for another event or two this season.”

Angliss was fastest overall in testing in his Breakell Racing-prepared Ginetta G56 GTP but was unable to produce his best laps in qualifying to sit third on the grid for the first two races.

And a tough opener saw him lose ground on the top-two as he eventually came home in third place.

However, Angliss fell to fifth after a poor start in race two only show excellent speed and charge back up the order.

He grabbed fourth place following contact between the cars ahead and then found room for an overtake into Riches corner for third.

Posting the fastest lap of the race, Angliss was able to produce another thrilling overtake into Riches corner to finish in second place.

Angliss made a storming start to the third and final race to take the lead from the outside of the front row before a bonnet issue hampered his progress due to a loss of visibility and aero.

And despite showing spirited defence, Angliss dropped back to second and held the position until the finish.

Angliss has returned to racing thanks to the support of Transend UK, Haigh Engineering and Concept Garage Equipment.
