BREA Angliss overcame recurring mechanical issues to score two points finishes at Donington Park in the third round of the Ginetta Junior Championship.

In her first races with Breakell Racing, Angliss placed 13th in both race one and race three after she was forced to sit out the second race.

The Coventry-based racer was left frustrated by the mechanical problems that have plagued her progress on the track but hopes her luck will change at Silverstone’s G Fest next month.

Angliss said: “It’s hard not to be gutted with how the weekend has gone.

“I never really had a chance to get properly going and have some consistent running, but I tried to maximise what track time I did get and picked up a couple of decent race finishes in the end.

“I want to say a huge thank you to the Breakell Racing team for all their hard work.

“The issues coming up with the car all stemmed from the past and weren’t their fault at all, but they were committed to solving them one-by-one and did a great job.

“I really hope that’s all my bad luck for the season out of the way and we can enjoy some positive outings now.

“Silverstone next is a circuit I’ve raced on before, so with that experience under my belt I’m confident I can go there and pick up some good results.”

After a positive first free practice session, an electrical problem limited her run time for the remainder of the day.

This put the 15-year-old on the back foot as she attempted to maximise every opportunity on the track.

Angliss started the opening race from the pitlane, after her team resolved a last-minute issue on the car, and produced a composed race as she pounced on mistakes to rise up to 13th at the chequered flag.

The teenager was unable to take part in race two but returned for the finale as she gained five places on the opening lap and battled to a second 13th place finish.

She is now set to contest six races across a three-day event at Silverstone this weekend which plays host to the inaugural G Fest.
