COVENTRY driver Blake Angliss will make a return to the British GT Championship paddock this season after joining front-runners Mahiki Racing as their official reserve driver.
The one-time Ginetta racer stepped up to compete in the British GT last year for his endurance racing debut.
And he secured an impressive GT4 class podium finish in just his fourth race.
Mahiki Racing scored a class win, multiple podium finishes and two GT4 lap records last season.
The team raced in the Lotus Emira GT4 in their maiden British GT campaign last year.
And the team has expanded to a three-car British GT entry this season.
The Staffordshire-based squad are an official Lotus partner team for 2025.
Angliss said: “Joining Mahiki Racing is a fantastic opportunity. I’m looking forward to working with the team, supporting the drivers, and being ready to step in if needed.
“The British GT Championship is highly competitive, and I’m excited to be a part of such a strong program. Thank you also to TOPDON UK for their continued support.”
Mahiki Racing team co-owner, Steven Lake added: “We’re delighted to welcome Blake to Mahiki Racing. His skillset and professionalism make him a great asset to the team.
“Having a strong reserve driver is crucial in a championship as competitive as British GT, and we’re confident that Blake will be ready to perform when called upon.”
The 2025 British GT Championship will be made up of seven events. And the nine races will range from one to three hours in length.
All of the leading circuits in the UK feature on the calendar, alongside a traditional overseas event at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.
