BLAKE Angliss will make a long-awaited return to the British GT Championship grid this weekend after securing a race seat with Mahiki Racing.

The Coventry driver will pilot one of Mahiki Racing’s new Ginetta G56 GT4’s for the remainder of the 2025 campaign.

Angliss impressed in a pre-season test earlier this year to earn a contract with Mahiki Racing as the team’s official reserve driver at the start of the season.

And Angliss has now been afforded the opportunity to showcase his talents behind the wheel in the fourth round of the British GT.

The fourth round takes place at Spa-Francorchamps over the weekend of June 20 to 22.

And Angliss is competing in a Pro-Am entry alongside Steven Lake.

Angliss said: “I’m absolutely over the moon to get the chance to return to racing in the British GT Championship.

“We’ve been working hard to try and get back in a car over the last year and truthfully I didn’t think it would happen this season, so a huge thank you to Mahiki Racing for this opportunity.

“It’s been great working with the team across the season so far, being integrated into their race weekend operations and finding out how they operate.

“I feel this will make it a seamless transition into the race seat and I’m confident that myself and Steven [Lake] will be a strong partnership.

“The switch to the Ginetta G56 is a positive one and I believe my previous experience with the car will be a real positive and help us to hit the ground running together at Spa.

“I’m really looking forward to racing at that circuit for the first time and hope we can have a successful weekend.”

The 22-year-old secured eight class wins ans 17 podium finishes behind the wheel of a G55 in the 2022 GT4 SuperCup.

He then stepped up to the G56 the following year and scored 11 podium finishes in 12 races which included four wins in the GT Championship.

Angliss returns to the track in the British GT’s traditional overseas race at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.

The three-hour race takes place on Sunday, June 22 and will start at 11.30am.
