CITY of Coventry SC have qualified for the Junior League National Grand Final later this year.
The club travelled to Norwich last weekend to compete in the National Semi-Final with a team consisting of 34 swimmers aged between nine and 12.
Most of the team had swam in the four preliminary rounds leading up to the semis.
There was an excellent team spirit throughout and some fantastic racing against strong opposition.
CoCSC fought hard, finishing in the top-three in 26 races, including 11 seconds as well as first place honours for Sophie Reh, Luke Healy and Louka Bramwell.
After a nail-biting and very close competition, Coventry finished second on the night with 159 points behind dominant winners Guildford on 261 and in front of third placed Camden Swiss Cottage on 156.
This means CoCSC have qualified for the National Grand Final on Sunday, November 25.
Elsewhere, Evan McWhirter, Lauren Cox and Ryan Griffiths represented Warwickshire at Sheffield in this year’s Inter-county competition.
Team Warwickshire finished 11th in Division Two at the gala with some great racing from the Coventry swimmers.
