COVENTRY’s Joshua Fairchild produced an excellent performance at the East Midlands Disability Championships where he came away with no fewer than nine medals.
The 17-year-old won gold in the 200m and 100m freestyle events and he also won silver in the 100m backstroke, 100m breaststroek and 50m freestyle event.
Fairchild, who has been a member of Coventry Swimming Club since the age of eight, went on to collect three medals with swims in the relay teams.
His gold medal in the 200m freestyle event was achieved in a new short course personal best time of 2:20.43 and he also swam new short course personal best times in the 100m freestyle and the 50m breaststroke.
