Non-league games play foul to winter weather

Coventry Editorial 18th Jan, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

THE COLD winter weather forced the postponment of most non-league games across Coventry over the weekend.

Coventry United’s clash away at Pilkington was called off on Saturday morning because of a waterlogged pitch, while Coventry Copsewood’s home clash against Heath Hayes also fell victim to the weather.

Alvis Sporting’s match against Paget Rangers in Division Two was also called off and will be hoping to return to action this Saturday when they entertain Kenilworth Wardens in the Fourth Round of the Birmingham County Football Association Saturday Vase.

Sphinx also return to action this Saturday when they host Long Eaton United in the Midland Premier Division. Coventry United travel to Pelsall Villa and Copsewood make the trip to Pershore Town.
