COVENTRY’S Peter Cusack will play for gold after helping Great Britain’s men to a dominant 71-43 victory against Germany in the semi-finals of the wheelchair basketball event at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Cusack played his part as Britain overturned a first quarter deficit to romp to victory at the Bercy Arena and book their place in the gold medal match.
GB will play United States of America in the final on Saturday, September 7 with the game to begin at 8.30pm.
USA won gold in the event at both Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.
Britain beat Australia in the quarter-finals after group stage victories against Germany, Canada and France.
If Britain triumph in the final it would mark GB’s first gold medal in wheelchair basketball at the Paralympic Games.
