Coventry City boss Russell Slade says the Sky Blues will have to fight until their last breath to avoid relegation after the 2-1 defeat here at Bury left them 14 points behind safety.
He said: “In the first half we made a couple of errors at the back. We had a couple of opportunities but we didn’t do that enough.
“That changed in the second period. We changed the shape. But it’s not about shapes and systems. We’ve tried all of those that are possible.
“It injected life into us. We got back into the game and in the end we were unlucky not to get something out of it.
“We got a smart goal but unfortunately we couldn’t build on it.
“We have to be effective for 95 minutes.”
Asked if he saw it that the team was now relegated, he said: “They now have to fight like it’s our last breath. It matters to everybody.
“It has to matter to them. It’s their careers. They have to protect that and work hard for that.”
