A RECORD amount of money was raised through the Coventry Charity Football Cup which will be distributed to 24 charities across Coventry and Warwickshire.

A cheque for £15,360 was handed to members representing those organisations at the competition’s annual presentation evening at Christ the King Club.

The Coventry Charity Cup has been running since 1907 and the money raised has come from fundraising events across the season.

Those charities that well receive some of the money raised include Coventry Deaf Sports & Social Club, St Paul’s Church in  Foleshill, Coventry Resource Centre For The Blind, Coundon Care for the Elderly, Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and Zoe’s Place.
