COVENTRY Rugby ran in nine tries to claim a dominant 61-10 bonus point victory against London Scottish.
Prolific winger Peter Sullivan crossed twice while Jack Shine, Morgan Strong, Dan Green, Onisivoro Sukani Nayagi, Morgan Adderly-Jones and Api Bavandra also dotted down at Butts Park Arena.
The result means Coventry sit eighth in the Champ Rugby table with four wins and five defeats from nine matches.
Despite the final scoreline, London took an early three-point lead when Fraser Honey successfully kicked a penalty.
However, the home side scored the game’s first try on 10 minutes as Shine touched down after Josh Thomas’s clever chip over the top.
And Coventry crossed again two minutes later when Strong finished under the posts from Senitiki Nayalo’s offload.
The hosts blitzed London with a third try in the space of four minutes as Sam Maunder and Thomas combined to feed Green who ran in unopposed.
And Coventry scored their bonus point try two minutes before half time when Sullivan strolled over out wide from Maunder’s pass.
The home side led by 23 points at the break with Thomas converting three of Coventry’s four first-half tries.
The referee awarded Alex Rae’s side a penalty try after the interval on 50 minutes following a scrum five-metres from the Scottish line with Vaughan Bentley sent to the sin-bin for the visitors.
Coventry made the most of the extra man five minutes later as Sullivan crossed for his second try of the game from Tom Bacon’s pass following a well-worked lineout routine.
The scoring continued on 65 minutes when Nayagi charged over to finish off a flowing move after good interplay between Thomas and Aristot Benz-Salomon.
London scored their only try two minutes later as Noah Ferdinand dotted down and Honey added the extras.
Coventry touched down again on 73 minutes when Adderly-Jones stretched out to score.
And the home side completed the scoring in the final minute as Bavandra collected Thomas’s cross-field kick and beat two defenders to dot down.
