COVENTRY Rugby have announced their 150th anniversary celebration fixture against a team of National League All-Stars will now take place next season.
The specially-arranged commemorative match was due to take place on Friday, May 17.
However, after consulting with English rugby’s third and fourth tiers, Cov have decided to delay the game for a few months.
A club statement reads: “We are overwhelmed with responses and interest from players relating to the All-Stars game at Butts Park Arena.
“We also fully appreciate that players have holiday and other commitments in the season break and after listening to players and coaches about their schedule we have taken the decision to move the game to a new date during next season.
“Once this date is finalised we will communicate fully and look forward to welcoming you all to what should be a great day.”
The club finish the season by hosting England under-20’s in another 150th anniversary celebration match on Saturday, May 25.
