RUGBY UNION - Coventry Rugby name squad for inaugural Matt Gallagher Cup fixture

COVENTRY Rugby have named their squad for the visit of Nottingham as the clubs prepare to face off for the Matt Gallagher Cup.

The Champ Rugby contest marks the launch of the Matt Gallagher Cup – a fixture dedicated to a former player of both Coventry and Nottingham.

Coventry name Aristot Benz-Salomon, captain Jordon Poole and Matt Johnson in the front row with Jack Shine and Senitiki Nayalo in the second row.

The back row features Allan Ferrie, Tom Ball and Morgan Strong while Josh Barton links up with Josh Thomas as half-back.

And Dafydd Rhys-Tiueti and Morgan Adderly-Jones also continue their partnership in the centres.

On the wings, Peter Sullivan and David Opoku-Fordjour start with Tom Bacon at full-back.




On the bench, Alfie Longstaff, Keston Lines and Eliot Salt provide front-row reinforcements while Dan Green and Onisivoro Sukani Nayagi also feature.

The trio of Sam Maunder, Tommy Mathews and Api Bavadra complete Alex Rae’s side.


Coventry host Nottingham on Saturday, December 20 with kick-off at 3pm at Butts Park Arena.
