RUGBY UNION - Coventry Rugby scrum-half Sam Maunder handed three-match ban

COVENTRY Rugby scrum-half Sam Maunder has received a three-match ban following a dangerous tackle in the club’s win against Bedford Blues.

Maunder received a 20-minute red card for the tackle against Beford in Coventry’s win at Butts Park Arena.

However, following an independent disciplinary hearing, Maunder will now serve a three-match suspension.

This rules the scrum-half out of fixtures against Chinnor, Ealing Trailfinders and Richmond.

However, the sanction will be reduced to two matches if Maunder successfully completes the World Rugby Coaching Intervention Programme (CIP).
