COVENTRY Rugby back-row forward Allan Ferrie will join Prem Rugby side Newcastle Red Bulls at the end of the season.
Ferrie has scored nine tries in 16 appearances for Coventry in Champ Rugby this season.
The 26-year-old is a former Scotland under-18 international and joined Coventry from ydney-based Southern Districts in Australia.
Coventry head coach, Alex Rae said: “We’re obviously sad to lose a quality person and player like Allan, but at the same time we’re delighted that we’ve been able to help him push on to the next level.
“It shows what a quality rugby programme we have here, and that if someone is prepared to work hard, anything is possible.
“Allan proves there’s no set route to the top, and we wish him all the success going forward.
Ferrie added: “I’m absolutely buzzing to come up to Newcastle and can’t wait to get started in the summer.
“I’ve had a great experience with Coventry this year and I’m determined to finish the season strongly with them before throwing everything into what I know is a massive opportunity.”
