COVENTRY Rugby fly-half Pat Pellegrini made his international debut for Tonga as his country lost 36-20 to Pacific rivals Fiji in their first Test match of the year.
Pellegrini came off the bench in Lautoka but was unable to inspire Tonga to a comeback win in their Pacific Nations Cup opener.
The 22-year-old is currently part of a 35-man squad with further internationals to come against Japan and Samoa.
All three Tests will act as warm-up games for this year’s Rugby World Cup in France which begins on September 8.
