RUGBY UNION - Morgan Strong to captain Coventry Rugby in Cambridge clash

MORGAN Strong will captain Coventry Rugby in the club’s clash against Cambridge under the lights at the Nick Newbold Stadium.

Alex Rae’s side suffered defeat at Nottingham last time out in a blow to the club’s Champ Rugby play-off hopes.

And captain Jordon Poole drops out of the starting side to the bench with number eight Strong to skipper Coventry.

In the front row, Aristot Benz-Salomon and Eliot Salt pack down either side of hooker Murray Davidson with the latter making his first start of the season.

In the second row, Jack Shine partners Senitiki Nayalo while the back row features Dan Green, Allan Ferrie and skipper Strong.

At half-back, Sam Maunder links up with Tommy Mathews while Api Bavadra and Oli Morris combine in midfield.




The back three sees Jack Reeves and David Opoku-Fordjour on the wings with Tom Bacon at full-back.

Coventry’s replacements, include Poole and Keston Lines in the front row, while Mackenzie Graham and Onisivoro Sukani Nayagi provide forward reinforcements.


And Josh Barton, Morgan Adderly-Jones and Dafydd-Rhys Tiueti complete Coventry’s matchday squad.

Coventry host Cambridge on Friday, April 17 with kick-off at 8pm at the Nick Newbold Stadium.
