RUGBY UNION - Reinforced Coventry Rugby aim to pick up where they left off at London Scottish

A REINFORCED Coventry Rugby are aiming to pick up where they left off when they return to action against London Scottish this weekend.

Cov last took to the field on New Year’s Day as Alex Rae’s men claimed an impressive 34-19 victory away at Bedford Blues.

And during the club’s time away from the pitch, some of Coventry’s walking wounded have returned to fitness.

After losing props Ollie Andrews, Toby Trinder and Adam Nicol plus hookers Suva Ma’asi and Will Biggs to significant injuries, Cov boss Rae dipped into the loan market to cover the club’s front row injury crisis.

However, the return of Biggs at Bedford, coupled with the signing of Fijian giant Vili Nairau, eased the situation prior to the January break.

And Nicol looks set to return from a hamstring tear in a huge boost to the club who picked up no other significant injuries over the festive period.

Basement club London Scottish have two games in-hand on Cambridge above them and are the only side to beat league leaders Ealing Trailfinders this campaign.

Scottish come into the game off the back of an even longer break than Cov, last taking to the field against Cambridge before Christmas.

Cov’s clash with Scottish takes place on Saturday, January 20 with kick-off at 3pm at Richmond Athletic Ground.
