THE SKY Blues have confirmed that Neil MacFarlane has left his role as assistant manager with immediate effect.
The former Hearts defender joined the club alongside former manager Steven Pressley back in March 2013, with whom he had also worked with at Falkirk.
Many had expected MacFarlane to leave with Pressley when the likeable Scot was sacked at the back end of last season.
But MacFarlane remained at the Ricoh Arena and was named as temporary caretaker manager alongside Dave Hockaday before remaining as the club’s number two following the arrival of current boss Tony Mowbray.
As expected, Mowbray introduced a couple of his own backroom staff in the shape of technical director Mark Venus and first team coach Jamie Clapham.
It is understood that Mowbray will not bring in a new assistant manager to replace MacFarlane.
A club statement concluded: “The club would like to thank Neil for all his hard work during his time at the club and wish him best of luck for the future.”
