COVENTRY City have confirmed the signing of Amadou Bakayoko from Walsall for an undisclosed fee.
The highly-rated striker puts pen-to-paper on a two year-deal with the Sky Blues and will now link-up with his new team mates ahead of the trip to AFC Wimbledon this weekend.
City saw off stiff competition from Bristol Rovers for the striker who provided eight goals and four assists for Walsall last season.
A spokesperson for Coventry City Football Club said: “The 22 year-old has risen through the ranks with the Saddlers, coming through the academy to earn his first professional contract at 18.
“After spells on loan with Southport, Telford and Worcester, Bakayoko returned to Walsall for the 2016/17 League One season, where he would go on to win the Saddlers Young Player of the Year award.”
Mark Robins said: “We are delighted that Adamou has agreed to join us.
“We were aware that there was significant interest in him from other clubs, and are very pleased he has chosen to join Coventry City.
“Amadou is a young, talented footballer who has great pace and power.
“We are looking forward to working with him and improving his game further.
“We needed more at the top end of the pitch and Adamou gives us that, and I’m sure he will become a fans’ favourite.”
