MIDFIELDER Danny Swanson has become Steven Pressley’s first signing of the summer after agreeing a two-year deal with the Sky Blues subject to Football League and FA approval.
The 27-year-old joins on a free transfer following a two-year spell with fellow League One side Peterborough United where he scored five goals in 79 appearances under Darren Ferguson.
“Danny is an exciting, technically gifted footballer who provides a real threat out wide and I’m delighted to get him in.” said Pressley.
“We were not the only club looking to sign him so to get a deal done that brings him here is great news.
“He’s got great footballing intelligence, he has a great attitude and he’s hungry for success which makes him a perfect fit for us.”
Swanson started his professional career with Berwick Rangers where he made 44 appearances and scoring four goals before sealing a move to the Scottish top flight with Dundee United in 2008.
The attack-minded playmaker amassed 107 appearances and 12 goals for the Tangerines before being snapped up by Peterborough United in 2012.
He spent two years at London Road before his contract expired this summer.
