Sky Blues legends on the ball this Sunday

Coventry Editorial 25th Jul, 2019   0

A CHARITY match featuring Coventry City legends is set to get underway this Sunday (1pm), to commemorate 100 years since the Sky Blues’ first game in the Football League.

The match, hosted by Leamington and Warwick Supporters Club, will pit a supporters XI against a legends team, featuring the likes of Carl Baker, Dave Bennett, Gary McSheffrey, Steve Ogrizovic and Garry Thompson, at Leamington FC’s Harbury Lane home.

In addition to the match, a raffle for a range of football prizes, including a match worn Coventry kit, will be on offer, with all proceeds from the day being split between Myton Hospice and former Coventry captain Michael Doyle’s charity – Coventry Night Shelter.

Surprise guests and further names are still to be confirmed, while a number of current Sky Blues players will be in attendance to meet fans.

Admission is £5 for adults, with under-16s entering free when being accompanied by an adult, with kick-off at 1pm and gates opening at 11.30am.
