EXPERIENCED striker Darius Henderson will provide the Sky Blues with more firepower up front after moving to the Ricoh Arena on a short term deal until the end of the season.
The 34-year-old, who made his City debut at Port Vale on Saturday, had been a free agent after agreeing to terminate his contract at Scunthorpe United on transfer deadline day.
The former Watford, Sheffield United and Milwall player will provide Mowbray with plenty of experience having scored over a hundred goals in over 400 games in the Football League and Premier League.
Henderson began his career at Reading but made a name for himself at Watford after firing the Hornets to the top flight.
He also enjoyed successful spells at Sheffield United and Millwall and Mowbray is confident he can become an important player for the Sky Blues with 16 games remaining.
“He is a big lad, a goal threat and dominant in the opposition area,” said Mowbray.
“He also has a lot of experience, including Premier League and we are glad to have him to strengthen the ranks.
“I spoke of that plan B, Henderson offers that.”
