THE Sports and Wellness Hub, on the University of Warwick campus in Coventry, is looking for outstanding lifters, swimmers and amateur athletes from all backgrounds who are over 65-years-old.
And the Sports and Wellness Hub is searching for the region’s most active senior with a unique competition aimed at over 65’s with a commitment to retaining or improving their fitness.
Locals who live within 10 miles of Coventry can enter directly or on behalf of a friend or family member who inspire them through their commitment to keeping fit regardless of age, or who have set themselves an incredible challenge.
The worthy winner will receive a free one-year Active Senior Off-Peak membership worth £360.
And the free membership will give the winner access to the Hub’s state-of-the-art facilities, featuring a gym and swimming pool, as well as over 75 fitness classes led by expert coaches.
Also included is a bespoke fitness programme of exciting activities specially designed for older adults, from table tennis and badminton to climbing and weightlifting.
Paul Bartlett, Interim Director of Sport and Active Communities at the Sports and Wellness Hub, said: “We have some incredibly inspiring members here at the Sports and Wellness Hub – from 80-year-old swimmers who have recently picked up the sport again, to climbers who’ve been climbing for more than four decades.
“Of course, there are numerous health benefits, but we find that most members do it out of passion, and this is exactly what we want to celebrate with our competition.
“If you, or someone you know, has an inspiring fitness story to share, then we’d like to hear from you. We can’t wait to read all about the region’s most active seniors.”
