Stewart 'optimistic but not certain' about top scorer Vallerand returning this weekend

ICE HOCKEY: DANNY Stewart is ‘optimistic but not certain’ about leading scorer Marco Vallerand returning to the ice this weekend for Blaze’s double header against Milton Keynes.

The No.88 was heavily winded when skating against Nottingham Panthers on December 30, an injury which forced him out of the return fixture at the Skydome on New Year’s Day.

And Stewart confirmed he’s not 100 per cent certain if ‘Vally’ will return to the ice this weekend.

He said: “There wasn’t much difference against Nottingham on Monday.

“You’d like to think Vally could’ve created one goalscoring opportunity. You’re always going to miss a guy that has 27 goals under his belt.

“I’m optimistic but not certain about him returning this weekend.”
