SWIMMING - City of Coventry Swimming Club prodigy wins best performer trophy at County Championships

A YOUNG City of Coventry Swimming Club swimmer won the best performer trophy at the Worcester County Swimming Championships.

Milton Xavier Yau, aged 12, won a remarkable 11 gold medals across three weekends of competition.

Milton retained the best performer trophy with the prestigious award presented to the swimmer with the most Championship victories throughout the annual tournament.

The 12-year-old raced in 800m and 1,500m freestyle events in Wolverhampton and then in Sandwell for the remaining 15 events.

Milton was crowned county champion in 17 events in his age group at last year’s competition.

And he successfully defended 11 of his titles while also winning three silver medals and three bronze medals.




Milton won the 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m freestyle events, the 50m, 100m and 200m butterfly events and the 200m and 400m individual medley races.

The young swimmer trains with both City of Coventry Swimming Club and Evesham Swimming Club.


Milton thanked all of his coaches who have helped him in his swimming journey so far.
