COVENTRY School of Taekwondo won an impressive eight medals at the Tae Kwon-Do Association of Great Britain (TAGB) World Championship.
The event took place at the Skydome in Coventry as teams from over 20 countries and more than 2,000 competitors descended upon the city.
And Coventry School of Taekwondo’s squad of 11 athletes, based out of Lyng Hall School on Blackberry Lane, won two gold, five silver and one bronze medal in total.
Both Anja Sergiew and Hanna Zelazko won gold in their respective red belt divisions to become junior world champions.
Additionally, father and son duo Lukasz and Oscar Skowronski won silver after Farhaad Namdar, Nathan Lumbu and Octavian Badlan all claimed silver medals in their events.
Namdar also took bronze in the tag team event to complete the club’s fine medal haul.
The club is ran by 4th Dan black belt Russell Bromage.
Bromage said: “I’m very proud with the results we got, to get this many medals from 11 entrants, especially two new junior world champions, is amazing.
“It’s testament to the dedication and hard work that these students have shown over the time they have been training.
“This adds to the other Junior World Championship gold we won back in 2018. Hopefully, these students will go on and win adult world titles in the next few years.”
