TAEKWONDO - Young Coventry athlete wins gold at British Taekwondo National Championships

A YOUNG athlete from Coventry won a gold medal at the British Taekwondo National Championships in Sheffield.

Renat Kurbanov triumphed in the child +48kg category to win a gold medal and become British champion.

The 10-year-old trains at Five Lions Taekwondo Academy in Coventry.

Renat’s parents said: “We express our heartfelt gratitude to his coaches at Five Lions Taekwondo Club for their dedication and support in nurturing our son’s growth.

“This achievement reflects Renat’s hard work and determination, his coaches’ tireless efforts and the encouragement and values fostered within the Coventry community.

“Renat has shown exceptional development not only in athletic ability but also in personal confidence and resilience.
