TEAM NEWS: Robins announces starting XI as Coventry City prepare to face Milton Keynes

Coventry Editorial 18th Mar, 2017 Updated: 18th Mar, 2017   0

MILTON Keynes Dons FC provide the opposition for this weekend’s League One fixture as the Sky Blues aim for a first league win in exactly a month.

It was on the 18th of last month that Mark Robins’ side earned a hard fought 2-1 win over Gillingham, however since then they have recorded just one point from their last five fixtures – a 0-0 draw away at Shrewsbury.

Today’s opposition have fared better in recent fixtures. Robbie Neilson’s men have recorded wins at home to Oldham and Shrewsbury in the last six weeks – though poor away form has kept them hovering above the relegation zone with 21st place Port Vale just three points behind.

A win for Coventry will keep them bottom of the League One table, however the host’s will be looking to distance themselves between their current position and the drop with a win of their own.

Lee Burge remains in goal while skipper Jordan Willis returns to the side following a month’s absence after suffering a recurrence of the injury which has kept him out of action since his sending off at Northampton in January.

Chris Stokes, George Thomas and Ruben Lameiras return to the starting XI after all being left on the bench for Tuesday’s home game against Southend.

There is also a place in the side for Jodi Jones who returns.

COVENTRY CITY: Burge (GK), Willis (C), Rawson, Clarke, Stokes, Stevenson, Reilly, G.Thomas, Lameiras, Jones, Tudgay.

Subs: Charles-Cook, Turnbull, Bigirimana, Vernam, Reid, Haynes, Kelly-Evans.

MILTON KEYNES: Martin (GK), Baldock, Lewington (C), Walsh, Upson, Reeves, O’Keefe, Williams, Agard, Muirhead, Barnes.

Subs: Nicholls, Ngombo, Potter, Bowditch, Brittain, Downing, Tilney.
