A SERIES of impressive results at the British Youth Championships has earned Jamie Halder a move to Coventry Storm, writes Robin Allen.
The 15-year-old has worked his way up through the youth ranks and comes in as a joint replacement for Stefan Farnaby who has struggled to establish himself in the Storm team this term.
Team manager Laurence Rogers has kept an eye on the teenager in recent weeks and is delighted to have secured his services at Brandon.
He said: “I’ve watched Jamie with great interest coming through the 125cc class and up to 500cc, we’ve used him in the Midland Development League and I went to Scunthorpe for the British Youth Championship specifically to watch him.
“He’s only been riding at 500cc level this year but I was very impressed with him, we had a long talk and the outcome is that he’s now a Storm rider. He’s definitely a talent, and I know there have been other clubs after him.”
With the young Brit still at school doing his exams, it has been announced that Storm plan to share the rides between Halder and Callum Walker – who has already done a couple of meetings for the Brandon side.
