NEW ZEALAND back row forward Tom Preece has agreed to join Coventry and their bid for promotion from National League One.

The 26-year-old played as number eight for Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen Grammar two seasons ago and went on to appear for French Federale Two side Saint-Sevin Sportif last year.

Preece, who also played for North Harbour Marist and represented Auckland ‘B’ in New Zealand, comes to Coventry very highly recommended by Welsh development coach Carl Douglas.

He is expected to arrive in this country to commence pre-season training next week and takes the club’s number of signings this summer up to 14, with the squad number currently standing on 37.

There are currently also a number of trialists at the Butts Park Arena which includes two scrum-halfs.
